Following the flooding events that impacted Canterbury from 30 June 2021 all states of local emergency have now been lifted.
Six local authorities are in the formal Transition to Recovery period which allows the use of some powers to help with the ongoing impacts of this event.
The local authorities that are in Transition to Recovery are:
Hurunui District Council
Waimakariri District Council
Selwyn District Council
Ashburton District Council
Mackenzie District CouncilĀ
Timaru District Council
These councils will be working with their communities to support their recovery.
A huge thank you to the individuals, organisations and agencies that have been involved so far, many of whom will continue the mahi during recovery.
