In 2022, the Canterbury Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) Group set about updating the Group Plan. This is the defining document that sets out how the CDEM Group operates across the 4Rs - Risk reduction, Readiness, Response, and Recovery.
In mid-2022 a set of updates were proposed, and these were shared with key CDEM partners and submissions were invited from the public. Following this process, updates were made reflecting feedback, and a draft plan was taken to the CDEM Group Joint Committee on the 25th August 2022 where it was formally adopted. It was then sent to the Minister for Emergency Management for review.
At the end of March 2023, after experiencing some delays due to supporting the North Island floods, we are pleased to publish the Canterbury CDEM Group Plan adopted August 2022.
