Review of tsunami evacuation zones for Waimakariri and southern Hurunui districts

Summary

Tsunami evacuation zones are the areas that people should evacuate from, or stay out of, as a precaution after a long or strong earthquake or during an official tsunami warning. This report outlines Waimakariri and southern Hurunui's tsunami hazard and how tsunami inundation modelling and other information was used to delineate new tsunami evacuation zones. The new evacuation zones are larger than the old evacuation zones that had been in place since 2012.
